Velocipede - Unknown Manufacturer - Killingworth Connecticut ? - 1869
A very nice American built boneshaker from 1869. Note the unusual radial spoke wheels on this velocipede. Metal hub flanges capture the radial spokes and provide a very solid wheel. Beneath the main support spring for the saddle is a stamp form a shop that manufactured carriage springs. The shop was located in Killingworth Connecticut. I am unsure if they were the makers of this velocipede.
The pedals are a period replacement from another prominent velocipede maker, Pickering and Davis of New York City. I believe that they are original to the bike.
