Velocipede - Monod and Mercer 1869 Monod and Mercer were also carriage makers from New York City. In the 1860s they started building high quality velocipedes and incorporated all the latest improvements of the period. Note the bronze pedals, the increased wheel diameter, and the rear wheel brake.
