J.A. Stevens Bicycle Rifle - Patented Sept. 8, 1854

These small rifles with a removable stock are referred to as bicycle guns by collectors. Early ads for high wheel riders proclaimed that they were perfect as protection or for taking small game while out on a ride. A case with a sling would be provided to carry this over one's shoulder. They were available in different calibers. This example is 32 caliber rim fire.
